The Summer Shoots Programme runs at regular intervals during our Summer break from weekly meetings. It's a great way for members to meet up at different locations and enjoy each others' company and it provides opportunities to share skills & tips along the way.
Here is the Programme for 2026:
Wed 27th May Whitstable & Tankerton meet at the Harbour at 7pm – streets, harbour scenes, gardens, castle. (No cost)
Tues 2nd June Lydden Circuit – cycle racing. Meet at the circuit at 5.45. The cycling starts at 6.30pm. Café open. (No cost)
Wed 10th June Rochester – Castle, Cathedral, Steets, River. Meet at the station at 2pm. (No cost)
Wed 24th June Doddington Place Gardens – gardens; ponds; insects; trees. Meet in the car park at 2pm. (Entrance fee is £14 for an adult.
Free for members of ‘Historic Houses’.)
Wed 8th July Goodnestone Park Gardens – parkland, woodland, flower gardens, vegetables, pond + insects. Meet in the car park
at 5.30pm and we can stay until 7.30pm (No cost)
Wed 22nd July Dungeness – seashore and seashore flora; seascapes; lighthouses; old boats, rusty machinery. Meet at the Lighthouse at 2pm. (No cost)
We will also be given tea by Helen Taylor-Shore who lives at Dungeness.
Wed 5th Aug Reculver – ruins; seashore, sunset. Meet at the Towers at 7.30pm. (No cost)
Thurs 20th Aug Belmont – flower gardens, insects, kitchen gardens. Meet in the car park at 2pm. (Cost is a donation in the box.)
Summer Shoot Competition: At the first meeting of the 2026-7 Club year there will be the usual competition. Club members will choose the best images taken on summer shoots in the following categories – a) Wildlife / Nature b) People c) Buildings d) Creative e) Land or Seascape f) Pictorial g) Monochrome

Remember that you come along at your own risk. Call either of us (phone numbers in the booklet) if you need to know how rough the terrain is or how steep the gradients are.
